Welcome to the world’s first live, interactive, virtual nature & wildlife orientation trip of Costa Rica, designed for schools.

This unique orientation session is designed to make children familiar with Costa Rica’s spectacular wildlife and nature over five 60 minute sessions spread over 5 days. On this orientation trip, children will visit a volcano, a sloth rescue and rehabilitation centre, a national park, a coffee plantation, and a cocoa farm to learn how chocolate is

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY


Day 1: Visit a sloth sanctuary

Visit a sloth sanctuary dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, research, and release of injured or orphaned sloths. Children will get the opportunity to get up and close with sloths and learn about the work that the sanctuary is doing to protect them. Children can ask the expert questions as they take you around the sanctuary.


Day 2 : Visit a volcano

Visit the Poas Volcano National Park, which has one of the biggest craters in the world. Watch from a distance as the mile-long crater silently simmers and learn about this geographic marvel in detail from an expert.


Day 3: Visit a coffee plantation

On this tour children will visit the Doka Estate – one of the oldest and largest coffee plantations in Costa Rica. Children will learn about how coffee is cultivated and the many processes the bean goes through before it ends up in a cup. This tour also discusses the sustainability practices at the plantation and why this is important for the planet.

Day 4: Visit the La Paz waterfall gardens & butterfly farm

Visit the La Paz Waterfalls Gardens, a private park, where children will  an aviary with numerous species of birds. Enjoy a toucan feeding demonstration, visit the insect exhibition, butterfly observatory, and also meet the capuchin (white-faced) monkeys and black-handed spider monkeys.  


Day 5 : Visit crocodiles in a mangrove swamp

Visit the Carara National Park and the Tarcoles River. Observe one of the largest gatherings of American Crocodiles on the continent. Discover the mangrove swamp here which are rich in biodiversity, and where you will find a large number of aquatic birds.

Charly is one of the Executive Producers at Globe from Home and brings more than two decades of experience in Tourism management into creating special travel experiences.

Charly has been involved in campaigns involving the conservation of environment and is an active team member in our Responsible Tourism projects. His other interests include listening to music and driving.

How it works

This is a completely virtual school trip  that spans 5 one-hour sessions. The session can accommodate upto 50 students at a time. A minimum of 30 students are required for this trip to operate. Price per student is £50 for the whole tour. Prices shown on the site are based on the minimum required 30 attendees. For larger groups and bespoke requirements, please contact Globe From Home.You can let us know about your preferred dates and we can will organise it around them. Once you book the tour, we will send you a Zoom link which can be used by every student. Please note that you do not have to download Zoom to access the session, and only need to follow the link on the date and time confirmed. You can access the session from your mobile, laptop or desktop.
